Ugh, where to begin?
I think the love of decor and changing things around first started when I was a teenager. Once my husband and I became home owners, painting the walls, moving the furniture around and creating new vignettes with each changing season was something I quickly fell in love with. I could spend all day picking decor items up and placing them down until I was satisfied with how they looked. Typing this all out makes me think I have a sickness? LOL
Almost 6 years ago I was faced with two children that were growing up and a desire to find another purpose in my life besides motherhood. I loved being a "stay at home" Mom but found I needed something in addition to my family to fill my cup. With a lot of love, support and encouragement from my family and friends, I decided to jump in with both feet and open my brick and mortar store. My initial dream for the store was to sell paint and up-cycle old furniture but it has morphed into so much more then that. It is a space filled with home decor, paint, DIY products, a space to welcome customers to do workshops but most of all it's a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere that welcomes everyone. I have always believed that everyone deserves to have something beautiful in their home and my store is where you can come and affordably purchase it! An experience where friendships are made and beautiful things are created.
Laurie's Vintage Creations was once managed on my own but has grown into a business that requires my own team of ladies. My team consists of Kyla, who has been by my side, helping out for the last 5+ years, my sister in law Tannis, who has so courageously taken on this online venture, my Mom, who comes to give us a hand every once in a while and Heather who joined us in September of 2021 and completes our team!
What a year it has been! As challenging as this last year was I am beyond grateful for the support shown to me both locally and from outlying communities. I hope you can feel my appreciation through these words....thank you for stopping by on this page and please know how grateful I am that YOU ARE HERE!
